7 Steps To A Successful Boot Camp

Are you an entrepreneur?  Do you have your own business? If so then you are full of knowledge that you can help others.  You should make a profit on your knowledge or intellectual property.  One way to earn money is to offer a boot camp.  You can run a boot camp on just about any topic or niche.

Simply creating a boot camp does not insure that you will earn money from it.  You need to make sure that people attend your boot camp.  Therefore, the marketing you engage in for your boot camp is critical to success.

How do you market your boot camp?  Follow these steps to insure that you will have people clamoring to sign up for your boot camp.  Take these steps when you are giving a talk or teleseminar that promotes the boot camp.

Step #1:  Identify the wounds.  No these are not physical cuts and bruises.  You can identify wounds by asking these questions:

·        What biggest problem do people have in their lives that will want them to take advantage of my boot camp?

Example Answer:  Most small businesses don’t have a business plan and marketing plan which doesn’t let them obtain get loans/financing.

Step #2:  Lead the boot camp offer by presenting the wounds you have identified.  Give social proof of these wounds and how they can occur through herd mentality.

Step #3:  Encourage people to raise their hands so then others realize that they are not alone.  For example, ask the audience if they don’t have a business or marketing plan to explain how they are in the same situation as people who take advantage of your boot camp.  Make sure to ask numerous questions about the wounds and how it affects their business and life.

Tip:  If people don’t raise their hands for some reason then joke with them.  Ask them if they “know somebody” that is in that situation.  Then everybody will laugh and will raise their hand because they don’t feel awkward or embarrassed if it is about “somebody” else, even thought it is secretly about them.

Step #4:  Lead the questions into how your boot camp can solve these problems.

Explain that you have dedicated your life to solving these business problems and that you were just like them, but overcame the problems.
Step #5:  Explain how your boot camp cures the wounds.  Explain what your boot camp specifically teaches them.  For example, “My boot camp teaches them x, y, and z.”

Step #6:  Pass out a contact sheet.  Make sure to collect their name, address, email address, and phone number.  Ask them to write on the sheet what they need help with or want to learn.  Also ask who wants one-on-one help with any aspect of their business.  Give them adequate time to fill out the sheet.

Tip:  The contact sheet should be a bright color like bright yellow or bright blue.  You want it to stand out.

Step #7:  Talk with people individually to get them to come to your boot camp.

Tip:  It is better to be proactive and contact the people yourself.  People will usually not initiate contact.  If people initiated contact with you then they were extremely organized.  Which if they were really organized they probably wouldn’t need your help in the first place!

Tip:  You can also give a teleseminar and give a one hour presentation then talk about your boot camp.  This is a great way to bring in more customers and “close” the deal.
