Laser Project Focus - The Key To
Success
Are you
overwhelmed by projects? Do new
project ideas distract you from
projects that you are currently
working on? Do you have trouble
finishing projects? If so then
you need to understand the power
of laser project focus.
Often you
are overwhelmed because you work
on too many projects at one
time. Most projects should be
able to bring in money within 30
days of project initiation. If
you work on four projects
simultaneously then it will take
longer for you to start making
any money. It is better to
focus on one project at a time
as you will earn actual money
sooner.
In theory,
if you work on four projects at
then same time that each take 30
days to complete then it will
take you 120 days before you
actually see any money!
Essentially, multitasking causes
you to lose focus and momentum.
Multitasking means that you have
a to-do list. For example, you
start working on a sales letter
and then an instant message pops
up. You become distracted and
roam all over the Internet. By
the end of the day you haven’t
accomplished anything! This can
cause a delay of several months
before you make any money at
all!
When are
you typically most efficient?
Right before the deadline! Most
people make the most progress
the 24 hours before their
website goes live because they
are laser focused. Apply this
laser focus from the beginning
by focusing on one project at a
time.
Laser focus
takes a little discipline, but
is achievable. Focus on one
thing at time so you can make
money sooner. You become a
“finisher”, not just a “project
starter”. Ideas can be the
biggest distraction to what you
are working on right now.
The
following factors will help you
determine which project to focus
on:
1) Passion
for project
2) Return
on investment
3) How soon
can I bring this to the market
place?
4) Is a
today or tomorrow money
project? Tomorrow is a long
term project that is innovative.
Then close
the book on the other projects
and come back to them later.
Give yourself 30 days to
complete the project you have
chosen. Make sure you have
public accountability. For
example, let others know that
you are going to launch your
website/product on a specific
date. Repeat this process after
you complete your first project.
If you
follow a laser focus approach
then your first project will
start to take on momentum and
make money. 30 days later, your
second project will start to
make money as well. Remember,
to test, tweak and improve your
projects.
