Are Rich People Greedy?
Are rich
people greedy? Think about your
answer. Why do you think this
way? Rich people are not
necessarily greedy. They often
give more money then they live
on.
Pastor
Warren Adams is working on a
book to address the perceptions
of being rich. It is titled,
“It’s Ok to be Rich, but Seek Ye
First the Kingdom of God.” It
will be published in December of
2006. In this book, he provides
insight and discussion regarding
the positive aspects of building
wealth. Pastor Adams explored
the idea that it is scripturally
right to build wealth. The book
is about what he discovered.
He
concludes that it is ok to be
rich, but you have to seek it in
the proper way.
This
information could possibly
change your view about wealth,
the church, and the stigma of
being wealthy.
Following
are examples of topics covered
in, “It’s Ok to be Rich, but
Seek Ye First the Kingdom of
God”.
Insight
#1: The more you give, the more
God blesses you. You can’t out
give God. He directs you how to
give to others. He will give
you rewards.
Insight
#2: Wealth can be a detriment
if you let the money and
material items control you. If
you let this happen, then your
wealth is not going to amount to
anything. Material things are
earthly things, not eternal,
spiritual things.
Insight
#3: God gives everyone talents
and abilities and a certain
purpose. We have a
responsibility to God to use
what he has given us to be all
we can be for him.
Insight
#4: We need to grow spiritually
and materially to build wealth
and then use that wealth to help
other people. What if every
Christian was led by God into
Internet marketing, real estate,
public speaking, etc. and did it
under God’s direction? How much
more could be done with this
money to meet the needs of the
people that are sick and
suffering?
These
insights can be applied to
building wealth through a
business by realizing that it’s
our duty and right to go out
there and make things possible.
We’re all built in God’s image.
Give back. Don’t let money
control your life. Maintain
your positive spirit, giving
nature, and beliefs when you
build wealth. Don’t forget who
you are in process. Leave your
ego at the door. Don’t let your
ego get in the way.
